Investors Visa

The E-2 visa, an investor visa, is an option for those who are interested in opening or buying a business in the United States, have substantial capital to invest and are citizens of a country that is part of a Free Trade Agreement with the United States.

One of the main requirements to qualify for this visa is to be a citizen of a country with free trade with the United States. Some of these countries are: United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Ireland, Israel, among others. Another requirement is to have invested, or be actively in the process of, a substantial capital investment in a U.S. company.

It is also important that control of the company is in the hands of foreigners and not citizens or permanent residents of the United States. The investment must be marginal, that is, demonstrate that the capital invested is not its only economic support. Another important requirement is to be able to demonstrate the origin of the funds used for the investment.

This visa includes spouses and children under the age of 21 of the principal applicant. The visa is granted for a period of up to 5 years with a stay of two consecutive years in the country. These two years are automatically renewed with each entry into the country.
